Research and research-based knowledge is vital if Norway is to be a knowledge-based and innovative society. As a research institution, IRIS has a broad social responsibility. Dissemination of knowledge and research results is an integral part of this social responsibility. Research at IRIS is conveyed by means of participation in conferences and popular scientific presentations, as well as publication in national and international periodicals and monographs/books. We are also active on www.iris.no and in social media such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, and annually send out several digital newsletters.
For IRIS, social responsibility means that we must make our responsibility clearly evident and take the people and things around us that we affect via our activities into account. It is therefore important to integrate social and environmental considerations into the day-to-day operations.
IRIS has prepared ethical guidelines that identify attitudes and behaviour that are expected of each employee, including good business practice. The basis for these guidelines is the Group’s statement of core values, “Innovation, Respect, Integrity and Solidarity – IRIS”, and these must be complied with by all employees in order to safeguard that social conditions, the environment and the society-at-large are taken into consideration in all actions.
