Research communication

The researchers are concerned about sharing the knowledge that they derive from various R&D projects. In 2015 there was a high level of dissemination of research via scientific articles in specialist periodicals and book chapters. The researchers made many contributions in these two categories, both nationally and internationally. There were also book publications, conference papers, lectures, reports, feature articles and other participation in social debate.

2015 was the year in which the history of social change in the wake of the oil industry was penned by researchers at IRIS Social Science. The book “Hva har oljen gjort med oss? Økonomisk vekst og kulturell endring” (What has the oil done for us? Economic growth and cultural change) was published by Cappelen Damm in autumn 2015. The book is based on all the knowledge that the researchers have derived from many years of research into this topic. The book was launched at two different events and had a record attendance of people who wished to hear the authors give an insight into history.

An article on “The negotiating municipality in coordination reform – negotiation practice and leadership properties” was acclaimed in February 2015 as the best article in Norwegian political science periodicals in 2014. The article is a collaboration between researchers at IRIS Social Science and the University College of Oslo and Akershus.
