The Petroleum Laboratory was established approximately thirty years ago. Procedures and equipment were built up through close collaboration with the large oil companies, and equipment suppliers. The organisation has now been streamlined in order to serve the highly demanding commercial market for special core analyses. This includes the delivery of laboratory services and services tailored to the customer’s needs. It also includes opportunities for designing and constructing laboratory equipment for use in research projects.
The Petroleum Laboratory has nine highly qualified experts who can use existing equipment, workshops and other facilities to set up advanced laboratory trials and tests in petrophysics, core analysis, oil recovery and related subjects. 2015 has been marked by a steady inflow of orders and many new customers for the Petroleum Laboratory. In SCAL especially, there have been many projects and a great deal of activity. We have worked on the further development of procedures and methods and have given customers more information and data as a basis for their decisions. The laboratory has been involved in research in the two research centres.
