Research and research-based knowledge is vital if Norway is to be a knowledge-based and innovative society. As a research institution, IRIS has a wide social responsibility. Dissemination of knowledge and research is part of this social responsibility. Research at IRIS is conveyed through participation in conferences and popular scientific presentations, as well as publication in national and international periodicals and books. We are also active on iris.no and in social media such as Twitter and LinkedIn.
For IRIS, social responsibility means that we must demonstrate responsibility and take into account the people and things around us that we affect through our activities. It is therefore important to integrate social and environmental considerations into the day-to-day operations.
IRIS has prepared ethical guidelines that identify attitudes and behaviour that are expected of each employee, including good business practice. The basis for the guidelines is the group’s basic values, “Innovation, Respect, Integrity and Solidarity – IRIS”, and these must be followed by all employees in order to maintain consideration for social conditions, society and the environment.
